PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: Corner block (800m²) that lent itself to adding a second dwelling that still faced the main street.

PROPERTY OWNERS BRIEF: To design a 1 bedroom Granny Flat for his newly – wed son with a second living area that can be converted later on to a second bedroom when the family grows. The client specifically requested that the Granny Flat did not look like the main dwelling.

OUR SOLUTION: We suggested an acrylic render finish to provide a contrast between the existing brick dwelling and the Granny Flat. A double cavity sliding door was used to divide the main living area from the second living space. This provides privacy and allows for a second bedroom when required.

FEATURES INCLUDED High ceilings, LED downlights throughout, separate laundry, floor to ceiling tiles in the bathroom, large built in pantry to save space, polyurethane kitchen ceaserstone bench top.
